Eye surgery

Dr. Dishy is a FMH specialist in ophthalmology and a FMH specialist in ophthalmic surgery. Eye surgery (ophthalmic surgery) is a specialized field within ophthalmology and deals with the diagnosis and surgical interventions on the eye and its surrounding structures. Our practice offers a wide range of eye operations.

Dr Dishy Cataracts

Cataract surgery

Cataracts, medically known as cataracts, are a disease in which the natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy and vision gradually deteriorates.

Cataract surgery is a surgical procedure in which the natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear, artificial lens. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis and under local anesthesia.

Eyelid correction: eyelid lifting and malpositions

Eyelid surgery covers a range of procedures aimed at improving the appearance and function of the eyelids.

Eyelid lift (blepharoplasty): This involves removing excess skin, and possibly also fatty tissue, to tighten drooping eyelids and remove restrictions to the visual field. This operation to improve the visual field of drooping eyelids is defined as a medical condition depending on its severity, but can also be performed for aesthetic reasons.

Correction of eyelid malpositions: Malpositions such as an eyelid that is turned inwards (entropion) or outwards (ectropion) can lead to symptoms such as irritation, tearing and potential damage to the surface of the eye. Targeted surgical procedures can correct these problems and thus improve the comfort and health of the eye.

These procedures are usually performed on an outpatient basis and under local anesthesia.

Dr. Dishy Conjunctival surgery (Pterygium)

Conjunctival surgery (pterygium)

A pterygium is a disturbing growth of the conjunctival tissue that can spread over the cornea and impair vision. This growth can be benign or malignant. The aim of the operation is to carefully remove the pterygium and histologically clarify the removed tissue.

This operation is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. Aftercare is an important part of the healing process and includes the use of eye drops to reduce inflammation and promote healing.

Dr Dishy Eye tumors

Tumor diseases of the eye

Tumors of the eye include a range of benign and malignant growths that can affect different parts of the eye and surrounding structures.

If an eye tumor is suspected, early diagnosis and treatment is important. This operation is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia.

Intravitreal injections

Intravitreal injections are a minimally invasive treatment method in which medication is injected directly into the vitreous body of the eye. This procedure is used to treat eye diseases that affect the retina, such as the wet form of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and macular edema.

The injection allows the medication to be delivered directly to the site of the disease, which enables effective treatment with relatively low doses and minimizes systemic side effects. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis and under local anesthesia.
